you must keep in mind that the eee pc is built for portability. it will not have the computing capability of a desktop but it can be par with other low-end laptops. the main cons here is the capacity and the lack of optical drive. for a 2G eee pc, you will only have 2 Gigabytes of storage for your files. max a eee pc has is 8G. you also don't have a cd-rom drive and you need to purchase an external drive to plug to your usb port. the pros is of course it is cheap and it can fit almost anywhere.
